2006 Scientific and Technical Academy Awards: Cloth Simulation

Demetri Terzopoulos and John Platt jointly received the Academy Award for their revolutionary computer-generated techniques to simulate cloth in motion pictures. Though they gave final touches to their research 20 years back the impeccable technique is still effectively used in motion pictures; tearing garments, folding sheets and what not.
