These days you will hardly come across a teenager who doesn't have a stack of video games stashed in one corner of his room. And why not, unlike few decades ago, today video games are far more sophisticated and promise to take you to a different world altogether. But while you (parents) are thinking that playing video games is actually enhancing your child’s ability to focus, he could be encountering a set of different issues. While you may be gratified to see your child glued to a game and boasting how he’s mastered all levels, you must know that there are many video games in the market that have explicit content (violence, sex etc) not suitable for your kid. Those who love action, adventure and stealth have definitely played this game. However, the content of this game is unfit for children and hence it has also been given an M (Mature) rating. It shows deep violence and blood rage that can be visually and mentally disturbing. So do not allow your child to play it.

This game has been adapted into four Hollywood movies and all four were major hits, such is its popularity. Tagged with an M rating, the contents of this game are not easy on the mind. It has blood and gore, intense violence and uses strong language which is totally unfit for kids.

This game has been designed for the Xbox 360. The game is full of violence and hair raising graphics that it has been practically banned in Germany.

The first God of War was a smashing hit where it showed the rage filled journey of Kratos, the world's angriest man-god. God of War II goes a step ahead in being brutal and shows barbarous killing and agony. Even game critics have rated it as excessively violent.

This game is all about racing cars to win a game by destroying whatever comes in your way - innocent pedestrians, cars, lamp posts, police. Traffic rules play no role here, the only rule is to create havoc to win the race.

Kill, kill, kill is the motto of this game! The character has to kill whoever comes in his way in order to get rid of the hostiles. The graphics are too gory to watch. And to top it all, every time a bullet hits someone, the ground fills with a dirty splash of blood. The game's 3D effects look so real that it can frighten children.

This sequel to the popular Gears of War for Xbox 360 revolves around the main character Marcus Fenix, who is caged inside the prison for his treasonous behavior. But he is set free to fight Locust forces who are powerful creatures from a different race and are on Earth to banish mankind. The game is violent and shows blood rage and chunks of meat which is too strong on the mind.

The original distributors of this game refused to distribute it as they felt that it portrayed excess violence and blood rage. Here the player has to fight against the counterpart who is selected by the CPU. It was basically designed for PlayStation.

This game is about an eastern European immigrant who comes to SanAndreas city.The game comes with an M rating and shows sexually explicit content, violence, prostitution. Some gaming critics even said that it presents criminal activity in a glamorous way. It was rebuked by the Police federation as sick and beneath contempt.

The game is about seven players who enter a Mortal Kombat tournament organized by an evil sorcerer on a hidden island. They have to banish each other in order to win the game and hence continues the brutality and barbaric killings. The game was surrounded by controversy in the year 1992 because of its content.
