Google has created a vital momentum in the tablets arena by presenting the Android Honeycomb OS in a press conference. Although iOS is having a strong hold in the tablets industry but it is expected that soon Google Android Honeycomb will takeover it. With the release, Android Honeycomb has become the worlds first operating system for running the tablets and in just months time it has score a massive edge over its competitors. While demonstrating the core essentials of the OS, Google said that the user will be able to instantly buy applications or desired features of the applications by using it. In addition to this, the OS would support enhanced video chatting operations and deliver qualitative graphics. The organizations vision is to synchronize the overall size of the tablets. By unveiling the Android 3.0 software development kit, Google showcased some of its most unique features to the media. In the Honeycomb mechanism Google has specifically introduced a holographic interface in its device which would include developed versions of notifications and widgets. These are some of its most revolutionary features:

Screen: This time, Google has paid some serious attention to the display screen which includes; multitasking widgets (making it almost similar to a PC desktop); a lower System Bar consisting of switcher controls and taskbar; Action Bar with search and app launching controls: virtual desktops, inclusive of Dock-like strip of app icons with different features; live inbox & calendar items; stacks of ebooks; youtube videos; and other user configurable mini-applets. This larger than life version display shares more similarities with Microsoft's Tablet PC's rather than Apple's iPad.
Action Bar: A live Action Bar has deliberately replaced the menu area from the Android phone. Being displayed at the top of the screen this bar allows easy access to contextual options, navigation, widgets and other content. This Action Bar will remove the complexities prevailed in Mac OS works. The provision of dedicated hardware buttons to view menu options in the Action Bar is also a unique feature. And not to forget the UI element present at the top which helps in easy scrolling across the applications.
Better Copy and Paste: For a corporate user, this provision in Honeycomb would be much more beneficial as it saves a lot of time. Whenever a particular content is highlighted the Action Bar itself changes from its current options to let you Cut, Copy, Paste, or Select All. Apart from that, the copy/ paste functionality has been improvised to an extent. With a press-hold the user can drag the arrows to select the the required content. Now the user don't has to start from selecting and cutting the text for cut paste as it can be simply done with Action Bar only.
Movie Studio: Movie Studio is another cool feature which is entirely a fresh new thought. It includes switching between clips, text overlays and many more things which can be possible with a single touch. Off course, UI is a new feature but it is indeed a very good application.
Browser: Simply amazing Tabs, by which the tablet browser syncs with your version of Google Chrome. With the Incognito Mode the OS delivers tabbed browsing for private browsing and the bookmarks and history. The user can directly scroll through Google sites with this OS. In addition to all this, there are multitouch gestures for JavaScript, plugins, improved zoom and viewport mode.
Easy to use: There is no doubt that comparatively Android Honeycomb is decidedly more complex than the iPad- which can be an advantage to a tech savy person. Unlike a single button for scrolling through the home screen in iOS the Honeycomb OS includes a soft button at bottom of the screen. This home button can be used an up arrow button also. Some features might be new to the users. If a user presses the desktop for some time the widget/ wallpaper selector gets open. The third button in the row helps a user in viewing the recently viewed applications.
Better experience: Google Android Honeycomb scores an edge over previous operating systems as the applications are well organized with separate space for content, mail and chats to-do list. Widgets are always hard to understand but they too have been presented in a better order. With 3D-effect graphics, on screen menu bar, virtual keyboard, multi-tasking and effortless Google integration, Google Android Honeycomb has left iOS far behind.
On screen information: It is quite amazing that how Google Android Honeycomb manages such endless information on a single screen. By using widgets, the user can see his inbox, Twitter stream, Facebook news, and YouTube channels, so much in one single place. The information is huge but still it is not cluttery at all.
Interface: The Android Honeycomb's interface is far better than the iPad with endless options and user advantages. One of the Google sources in the press conference, Chris Yerga announced that the “new Market was live right now! ” It is a revolutionary operating system with different multitasking features. With this, Android has demonstrated an astonishing potential to innovate over a short period of time.
Additional features: In an aggregate, Honeycomb is an elegant and futuristic tablet OS and iOS is nowhere around it in terms of quality. In the extras, there are significant number of applications, rich content library, HTTP Live Streaming, DRM framework, etc. which are also there in iOS. But, there are some features which are not possible with Apple's iOS 4.0 like: Google Maps 5.0 (with views of 3D buildings), popup notification system and GoogleTalk video messaging.
