So, OLPC projects first initiative was a big failure, who cares? OLPC started the fire and race was always on for others to take over. Asus’ Eee PC has been, by far, the best UMPC that’s light on pocket. I don’t know about this new one being best but it’s surely cheapest of them all. Taiwanese vendor Carapelli has unveiled world’s cheapest laptop. It isn’t that high on specs but the price tag of £65 is surely lucrative. Impulse NPX-9000 is the new world leader when it comes to cheapest laptops, it’s a 7 incher equipped with 400 MHz Processor, 128 MB RAM and 1GB of flash. As one would guess, it runs on Linux and would be good enough for learning uses. Specs are even good for its usage as a netbook. It’s available at alibaba for whole sale price of £65, if one buys atleast 100 pieces.
