How does one enter the consumer electronics industry?

How does one enter the consumer electronics industry? Is the consumer electronics industry showing a booming trend, what do you think? Would you advise me to enter the industry and make a career out of it? I really need some guidance. I have $6000 to invest do you think it is enough or should I arrange for more?

With latest electronics gadgets flooding the market, the need for consumer electronics is certainly booming.

Entering into consumer electronics industry is neither tough nor easy. It depends on your acumen for doing business. There is not doubt that you can make a career out of it, but you need to test the waters before entering into the field.

The best way to approach is to make a detailed analysis and plan before you do it full time and make a career out of it. In order to do that, you first need to hold your present job and secure your present income.

First thing is make some extra time by holding your present duties. Once you have some free time like weekend or during evenings in weekdays, try out the new business in small scale.

Once you do in real time in small scale, you will get even clearer idea like what to sell, whether you have marketing skills to sell the products, existing competitions, and many more. In this way, you won't have to invest your money fully, but still you can test the waters. The driving factors in consumer electronics market are brand and people's preferences.

Instead of making full investment in single shot, just start as a part time and gauge your marketing skills and other factors by selling the products to your friends and neighbours. You can also try opening a e-shop in ebay. If you are personally satisfied with your results, then you can opt for franchise or start your own. This kind of approach is better especially when you want to foray into new business.
