How to do a dsl wireless setup?

I was using a PC and internet through DSL. Earlier I used a har wired connection from the computer to the router. Router was a wireless one. But now I have a laptop which can connect to a wireless network so I was thinking that I ll use a wireless on the laptop. But I dont know how to setup this wireless connection. I called the company and they said that they dont support the router cause it was not purchased from them. So I ll have to do it myself. Please help out how can I do a dsl wireless setup for my new laptop. the router is a linksys.

With todays high speed internet access Broadband routers are a form of hardware fire wall. There are also fire walls that consists of softwares that are less effective. Routers blocks and filter certain types of network traffic from reaching to your computer system. They are configurable so that you can tell it what you wish to come in and what you want to stay out. Some of the more common and cheap brand of routers for household use and are made by netgear, Linksys, and D-Link. They usually range around $50 to $100 for the average home router. This also is an example of a Netgear wireless router. While a non wireless router will not have an antenna. Next you need to know if you use the name and the password that gets you online. Some of the companies like SBC make you sign on to use its internet. Now, These all settings can be stored in the router so you need not to enter them to get online each time. This will set up your DSL wireless network. Thank you..
