Why I am not able to download ‘free maps’ on to my GPS devices?

Magellan Roadmate 5145 TLM and Magellan Pro 9165 TMap covers United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The free map updates provided by the Magellan site is a great source to keep your device abreast with routes and help you with clear directions. However you need to ensure the following for a successful download of this software from your computer:

1.Check your system configuration, video card compatibility and disk space. The following are needed to support smooth download.

Supporting OS are Windows XP/ Window Vista/ Windows 7

Best processor for it would be IBM Compatible PC / 1.5 GHZ P or more

256 MB RAM size

Video Card having Direct X 9 compatible with VRam of 128 MB

More than 50 MB free disk space for smooth download and installation

2.Register your device model at http://www.magellangps.com to enable map update.

3. Ensure to disable the firewall or anti virus software in your computer during download.

4. Uninstall and then refresh with installing the content manager software again.

5. Ensure your GPS device is fully charged.

6. During installation, do not unplug the connecting USB line between the computer and the device.

7. You need to launch the free content manager software.

8. Restart your GPS device.

9. If you still cannot see any fruits, then it is a good idea to contact the technical assistant team.

10. The new maps are updated every 3-5 months and in between months may shown non-availability of a new map if purchased. Hence sometimes even after the purchase of your map subscription, you may not see a new map.
