Can I get some information on darwin kernel version 10.0.0 : root:xnu-1456.1.25~1/RELEASE_X86_64 ?

Hi, I have a problem with darwin kernel version 10.0.0 : root:xnu-1456.1.25~1/RELEASE_X86_64. I was able to re-compile MacFUSE and get it to load in a 10.0.0 64-bit kernel. I am still not able to understand that what exactly it is all about as I am not a techie person, neither do I have any sort of troubleshooting in my system. I asked a few of my friends about it, but no one was actually able to help me out for what it is.

Darwin is an open source POSIX-compliant computer operaing system released by Apple inc. in 2000. It is composed of code developed by Apple, as well as code derived from NEXTSTEO, BSD and other free software rojects.

Darwin forms the core set of components upon which is Mac OS X. AND even apple tv, and IOS SINGLE UNIX SPECFICATION version 3 (SUSv3) and POSIX. It is compatible with the UNIX applications and utilities.
