Most people won't often pay attention to weather forecasts as they are just some numerals. The Cryoscope can take you beyond these figures in weather forecasts. This haptic weather forecasting tool allows you feel tomorrow’s forecast climate in your room. Well, you don't need to get out to check how cold the climate is.

The Cryoscope, an aluminum cube, simply exhibits the predicted weather of tomorrow. Robb Godshaw, an industrial design student, has developed the Cryoscope. The tool is an aluminum cube with a heat sink, cooling fan and a thermoelectric cooling Peltier element inside.
An Arduino controller, which collects the next day’s climate forecast from the web, acts as the controlling unit of the Cryoscope. There is an RGB LED outside the device, which illuminates to show the current temperature status, like red for hot and blue for cold.
Users are just expected to lay their hands on top of the aluminum cube to feel what will be the next day’s climate. The Cryoscope features an effective range of 0 to 100F, i.e. 18 to 38C, which means you can fry an egg on top of it. This way, weather forecasts will get better attention; people can access weather forecasts through haptic experience, beyond the usual numerals.
The haptic weather tool is just in prototype mode now. It is not sure whether Robb intends to take it beyond. The device looks too impressive to attract consumers if it's up for grabs someday.
