How to connect an xbox 360 slim HDD to a PC with a transfer cable.

I am trying to connect my Xbox 360 to my computer which is installed with Vista with a transfer cable. Every time I plug the transfer cable in, it runs and then says that the software was installed successfully. But then it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer. Can someone please tell me what to do? Do I need special software to add to my computer, or is it just not possible to do this? Please help.

Two options are available for moving your precious information. You can either use the Xbox 360 hard drive

The Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer cable can be purchased from a local or online retailer game.

Important: Use only the Xbox 360 hard drive transfer cable to move your content. Microsoft does not license, support, or guarantee the functioning of wires made by other manufacturers.

Once you have the hard drive transfer cable, you're ready to transfer content.

To transfer content to another console

1. Remove the hard drive from your old Xbox 360 console.

2. Connect the wire transfer to the hard drive and plug the other end of the wire transfer Into a USB port on the destination console. When both ends of the wire are connected, you're ready to transfer.

3. Turn on your new console. If you have installed the latest console software, the following message will appear. Choose Yes, transfer to console.

4. Select start to begin the content transfer.

The transfer might take hours to complete depending on the amount of content stored on your old hard drive.

After your content is transferred to the new console, some might still be associated content with your old Xbox 360. Do not worry, you'll still be able to play the content on your new console as long as you are signed in to Xbox LIVE using the gamer tag that purchased the content originally.

However, if you want to use all of your content transferred without signing in to Xbox LIVE gamertag or with A different, you'll need-to transfer the content licenses to your new console.
