How to clean windows temp files manually?

For last couple of weeks I have been noticing that my system is running slow and the reason I think behind the slow functioning is that my temp folder is inundated with the files. So tell me how manually I can clean out the temp folder in Window 7 so that I can improve the working of my system….

While there may be other reasons as to why your system is running slow, cleaning the temporary files may be a good option to start with. Here is how you can manually delete all or some temporary files on your Windows 7 system:

1. Click on Start and in the search box, type the following keyword: %temp% and press Enter key. This command will open up your temporary files folder.

2. To delete selected files, left click on all the items that you want to delete keeping the Ctrl key simultaneously pressed. When finished selecting, release the Ctrl key.

3. Now, to delete these selected items, press the Delete key. You will probably be asked for a confirmation for the same by a dialog box. If are sure to delete the selected items, click on Yes. Make sure you delete only those items that you believe are safe to delete at the moment.

4. If you wish to delete all items in the temporary files folder at once, click on the Organize button located on the toolbar menu and then choose Select All from the drop-down menu.

5. Now, press the Delete key to delete all the items. You will again be asked for confirmation. Click on Yes.
