We might have been enabled to establish new communication routes with people around or make new friends through certain social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Google Plus+ and others. However, taking the social circle to voyages by air may indeed throw a curve over many across the globe. At least, that’s what the new service from an airline has done. To bring forth an entirely distinct user experience that nobody has witnessed before, KLM has now introduced their new Meet and Seat service which enables people to choose their seat partners based on social media profiles.

Interestingly enough, the recently announced service will allow airline passengers to settle upon who they sit next to on their flight. By taking advantage of this innovative solution, users will also be enabled to access their fellow traveler’s LinkedIn profiles. Though we are uncertain whether the fellow traveler would want that to happen. Nevertheless, the Meat and Seat service makes it feasible for an individual to choose their in-flight neighbors based on their appearance, occupation and mutual interests.

Besides this, connecting to Facebook and LinkedIn during online check-in will allow passengers to seamlessly decide on their ideal travel companion. But, passengers will be required to participate in the service. At the same time, passengers who are not really interested in associating with others or making friends while covering their journey are provided with the convenience of not to participate.

There’s no doubt that KLM has announced a new, unique opportunity for networking but the developer believes it would rather prance as an interesting matchmaking tool in a significant way. So, whether an individual wants to junket by air with utmost comfort, make new acquaintances while taking a trip, or just want to search for a partner, the new airline service makes almost everything possible.

The new KLM Meet and Seat Service is furthermore expected to launch during the early phase of 2012.
