What is a better choice b/w faster or more RAM?

I have 4 X 2GB of 800Mhz Patriot RAM it is fairly new just a couple of months old, but the way it has started behaving I believe it was one of my worst decisions to invest money in it. Now I am planning to return this RAM and get a new one as a replacement. Now my question is it better to have a faster 8 GB RAM or 4GB is the maximum space that my board can handle? What do you think would be best suited for me as I am not much of an extreme gamer and I don’t even work on huge files? Keeping this in mind what would be the good choice for me or in other words which one would be faster?

A proper configuration and assembled parts are very much necessary to work in a hassle-free manner with your system. Your instant decision to change the RAM is good. Now it is better for you if you go for 4GB RAM. This is because it will leave some space and will be smoother to work (according to many IT experts). You have 8GB of maximum RAM support. But, this does not mean that you must install a RAM of maximum level. It is the same function what you do for your mobile phone. If your mobile phone supports 16GB memory card and you install a 16GB memory into your mobile then your mobile might not work fast. At many times, your mobile will start hanging because you touch the ultimate level of memory on board.

The same thing happens with your system also. So, it is better to go for the 4GB one and you will find a very good result if it is good and genuine. Remember that you have always options to buy a new one and to upgrade your system whenever you want. So, better you test the performance of this RAM this time and go for a premium standard if it requires in future. Computer parts with their latest configurations are rapidly rising items which are required to upgrade on yearly basis.
