How to change resolution windows xp?

Something happened to my computer yesterday. My younger cousin she was playing with my computer and when I came back from school I saw that the resolution on my screen was totally changed and the screen looked weird. Is there something wrong with the computer or did she just changed some setting? I want to get back to the normal mode and please tell me how to change resolution windows xp. Also tell me what is the best setting for resolution on a wide screen monitor. Thanks for considering helping me.

There are two ways of changing windows screen resolutionfirstly start the computer in VGA mode, there is an option above the one thatsays safe mode that way everything will work ok, only that you will have a lowresolution that you can adjust though as you like. Secondly Go to the registryeditor & find the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG -> System -> Current Control Set -> Control ->Video.

There would be a random string of characters that should be the model of videocard in your system represents. On what there is to "click, 0000".Youcan then change the values for Default Settings. X Resolution and Default Settings.Resolution
