How to change color of windows 7 taskbar?

I was trying to mess with this new operating system. I have installed the windows 7 a few days ago only. I was thinking if I could change the color of taskbar. I don't really like that and I want to match it to my current wallpaper. It would really look great and I would also learn a new thing about the operating system. Please help me how can we change color of windows 7 taskbar. Thanks in advance

Changing the colors on a computer running Windows 7 applies to Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions. If you have one of these editions installed in your computer then you can change the color of the taskbar by any of the two methods described below:

Changing taskbar color by changing the theme

A theme in Windows 7 consists of a desktop background, a window color, a sound scheme and a screen saver. Each theme has a different window color and when you change a theme from one to another, window color changes and so the color of taskbar.

  1. Right click anywhere in an empty space on the desktop and click Personalize.
  2. Click on any of the available themes that suits you and the taskbar color will change according to the theme.

Manually changing the tasbar color

If the window color of a theme doesn't suit your needs then you can change the taskbar color manually.

  1. Right click anywhere in an empty space on the desktop and click Personalize.
  2. In the bottom area of the Personalization window click on Window Color to open Window Color and Appearance window.
  3. Click on the desired color and and close the window saving changes.
