BYD showcased two spectacular new models - the Qin and the F3 Plus at the 2012 Beijing International Auto Show. The two cars feature the company’s state of the art technology. The BYD Qin is a next-generation electric vehicle that harbors a new Dual Mode II system which provides many benefits: 7 percent improved efficiency, energy-saving capability and the speed potential of 50 km on a 10 KWh charge in EV mode. In hybrid mode, its electric motor and engine work together to produce 223 KW output of power and 440 Nm of torque. Hybrid mode consumes only about 16 RMB of energy per 100 Km, totaling at $2.50 dollars.

The Qin is also fitted for customer service with the “i” intelligent cloud system, the highlight being cloud-computing facilities and other services like roadside assistance, etc. The second car is as impressive as the first. The new BYD F3 Plus is implanted with a Direct-injection, 1.5 Turbo-charged, Dual Clutch engine. Its most significant aspect is the Remote Driving Control technology that enables a control option via a remote key. Drivers can perform basic driving functions remotely without the need to be in the car.
F3 Plus is the first mass-produced model in the world to be equipped with this remote-controlled technology. However, not everyone is optimistic about the car's remote controlled capacity. Though there is a restriction on speed, the odds of an accident are relevant, especially since average people usually struggle to control scale model cars.
BYD exhibited another important advancement in EV technology– Bi-directional Charging and Discharging technology. With this amazing technology that practically turns an EV into an energy storage station, drivers can accomplish V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) discharging, V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) faculty.
Their first-rate developments; Dual Mode II system, Remote Control Driving technology and the Bi-directional Inverter Charging and Discharging technology underscore the company's innovation and commitment to progress, made clearer in its auto show theme of "Technology, Quality, Responsibility".
