Should I buy microsoft surface for my children?

I want to buy Microsoft Surface which is a multitouch product from Microsoft. It allows a user or number of multiple users to control digital content with gesture recognition. I want to buy this awesome product for my children so that it can help them learn. I want to know that is it really sensible to give it to children as I find it very fragile? How much it would cost?

Microsoft Surface is a multi-touch surface computing platform responds to natural hand gestures and real world objects .It has a 360-degree user interface.

Having sensory technology like PixelSense™, it sees and responds to touch and real world objects—supporting more than 50 simultaneous inputs.

The latest model Surface 2.0 includes a 40 inch Samsung SUR40 which is 4 inch (10 cm) thick, a 2.9GHz AMD Athlon II X2 processor, a Radeon HD 6700M graphics card. It can be installed and used as a table, on the wall, or embedded in other fixtures or furniture. Surface has been optimized to respond to 52 simultaneous touches at a time.

The Surface screen is made up of acrylic, and its interior frame is powder-coated steel. Thus it is sturdy, though it may look fragile.

Even non-digital objects can be used as input devices, like a normal paint brush which can be used to create a digital painting in the particular software. This is made possible by the fact that, the system uses cameras for input, and does not rely on properties of conventional touchscreen which restrict free flow.

Kids can enjoy playing games on it, and education can be given a whole new dimension.
Several schools have already installed these and are using them for interactive education.
Kids can finger-paint digitally on the screen, without worrying about the errors due to handling of a mouse pointer device.

The installation cost for Surface 2.0 is approximately $7,600.
