Business oriented benefits of the multi-touch HP Slate 2


The failure of the HP TouchPad did not deter HP from releasing its new tablet device named the Slate 2. HP claims that this device is meant for business users because it comes loaded with trade tools. The new tablet device is a successor of the HP Slate 500. Its dimensions are 9.21 x 5.9 x 0.61 inches. The Slate 2 weighs 1.5 pounds. Home button is present on tablet’s edge. The Slate 2 features USB 2.0 port. The major drawback of the Slate 2 is that it lacks video out options. The Slate 2 has dual camera, one on the front and one on the rear. The front-facing camera can be used for video calling and web conferencing.

The Slate 2 is powered by an Intel Atom Z670 processor and it has 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM. HP will release this tablet device in two models: 32GB and 64GB. The Slate 2 lacks microSD media cards slot. The Slate 2 boasts of an 8.9-inch touch screen. The resolution of this screen is 1024 x 768 pixels. This tablet device supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Slate 2 runs Windows 7. The starting price of the HP Slate 2 Tablet is around S$ 900.00.
