how to burn dvds on itunes?

I have been trying to burn movies to DVD by imac. I used idvd for a while but the process took nearly 5 hours for one movie. I used iTunes the other day and it worked but the DVDs don't play on any DVD player. I need suggestions on what type of software should I use to write the files and how to burn DVDs using iTunes?

When you buy movies and tv shows from itunes you are only purchasing a digital licence. You cant directly burn them onto DVD's unless you run them through a program that rips them and removes the DRM from them. iTunes do not allow you to burn like a tv show to an actual DVD. You can only make backups on data CD's and those only play on computers. There is a program called tunebite which converts unprotected video files to protected files. If you have a proper of DVD CD, you should have no problem. Tunebite takes like five minutes to install and is very fast when searching for the files you want to convert.
