Brother showcases the world’s fastest printer: Shooting out 100 pages per minute

Printers and scanners seem to have improved a whole lot in the last few years or so. With rapid technological advances, they not only offer more quality, but are becoming cheaper. The current Laser printers seem to offer both good quality and speed. But for a company called ‘Brother’ from the Far East, this just does not seem enough as they have just showcased their latest printer that not only offers a speed of 100 pages per minute (PPM), but it does so without compromising on quality one bit.

The new printer that now stakes claim to the title of the fastest on the planet uses revolutionary new print head technology with a 21.5cm page-wide linehead and 5,198 nozzles. This allows it to print across an entire page at the same time. Of course, do not expect one of thse brand new printers from Brother to manifest at your work place anytime soon as it will still take an year or two for them to go commercial.

While the speed is impressive what makes it more appealing s the promise of offering full laser quality and the fact that it consumes a lot less energy than many of the high end laser printers that are currently available. There is no word on what the price of this super-fast printer will be when it does become available, but do expect it to pull pretty tightly on your purse strings.
