Technology never ceases to amaze us. It has tapped into our lives time and again, and has made its presence felt from household appliances to the world of music. Radios which made an entrée gave way to iPads and iPods subsequently. But now there’s a new technology in the world of music that has the whole world at its feet. That is the Audman – the world's smallest speaker dock.

The brainchild of designer and hardware developer Dean Ekkaia and engineer and programmer Sean Solberg, Audman is truly making waves among people irrespective of age. Funded by Kickstarter, an online platform for creative projects, Audman brings the retro touch of the 80s when listening to music was a simple affair. A Sony walkman lookalike, Audman is an all-in-one multipurpose shell case for the iPod Touch and iPhone. But most importantly, it is a ground-breaking and contemporary speaker dock and battery charger for the iPod and iPhone with a retro touch. Taking inspiration from Sony's much-loved portable cassette player, the Audman fully covers an iPhone in its ABS plastic shell, thereby giving it maximum protection.

Available on pre-order on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter, Audman aims to be the world’s smallest speaker dock. Audman has built-in dual speakers which is power-driven by an internal battery, which can also be used to provide extra power to the device docked within and will even charge the gadget while you are on the go. Another striking feature of it is its dual headphone jacks, with each one positoned on either end of the case to make it easy for you and your friend to listen to the music at one go.
But the main attraction is its fully functional large analog-style pushbuttons that are positioned on the Audman's side, offering old-fashioned buttons to press for volume and track skipping and to to control your music playback. Included in it is an application, which gives you dual benefits, i.e. it can turn an iPhone's screen into one that looks like a replica of a casette tape and which allows you to make your very own mixtape. Apart from this, you can listen to music, text, and can make and receive calls using the Voice Control dialing. The belt clip on the rear side of the Audman in a true Walkman style also folds out to serve as a handy stand.

This pocket-sized innovation is perfect for running, biking, hiking and a day at the beach. It has been designed in such a way that you can carry it with you the entire day or wake up to it at your bedside or use it as a stand to listen to music in the morning. Convenient to carry it everywhere be it on your way to work, or anywhere, all you need to do is simply open the door and slide your iPhone in and it will automatically dock. A great promotional gift, it can be a boost for businesses, startups, organizations and teams.
