Undoubtedly, the new Intel Core 2 processor line seems to be the hot CPU time right now.Everywhere you look people are talking about the base 2, and while I've only been around for a few weeks, fans are starting to chip faster than Core 2 Intel can put out. Most retailers will sell off its inventory of Core 2 CPUs, and as a result many end users are stuck on waiting lists hoping to get your CPU within 2 weeks of order initially.

It's been a long, long time since a new CPU has caused a stir like this. We have openly wondered if the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, in particular, is the Celeron 300A reincarnated. The E6400 offers a lot of bang for the buck at a speed of action, but really shines with a little overclocking. The fact that these chips can be had for under $ 250 in some stores makes it an incredible bargain.

If you have another $ 120 or less to spend, the Core 2 Duo E6600 is another champion of price / performance. The CPU operates at 2.4 GHz, 2.13 GHz compared to the E6400, and most importantly, vessels with double the amount of L2 cache, 4 MB of E6600 compared with E6400 2 MB in the .

For ASUS NVIDIA player currently offers two options, the nForce4 SLI X16-based P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe motherboard and power P5NSLI nForce 570 SLI.

Obviously, with its new component, which naturally expected the P5NSLI be the most attractive option for future Core 2 owners, but it's not that simple. The P5NSLI is to provide a value for the segment of SLI, and therefore lacks some of the bells and whistles ASUS high-end motherboards. The P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe motherboard is based on a larger set of older chips, but was designed for high-end market from the beginning. in other words, has more of the features you would expect to find on a motherboard for the enthusiast level.

For enthusiasts interested in ATI CrossFire, the choice is simple: ASUS P5W DH Deluxe. This motherboard features Intel's 975X chipset, providing native support for ATI CrossFire, and is packed with features. We have been using this motherboard extensively in the past month, and have found it a first class meeting.

The P5W DH Deluxe is one of the more expensive Core 2 in the market right now, selling for north of $ 250 to many online retailers. If you want to save some money and do not plan on improving dual graphics technology such as SLI or CrossFire, the line of ASUS P5B would be the ideal choice. ASUS offers a wide range of motherboards P5B line, rangingfrom cost-conscious consumers all the way to the enthusiast high-end hardware. The P5Bhas also proved a popular choice among many over clockers, with reports of boards hitting400MHz FSB Core 2 CPU. For this review, we are taking a look at the high end ASUS P965 motherboard, the P5B Deluxe WiFi-AP Edition.
