alternative operating systems for xp?


I am just tired of all this virus and shit on xp. Ask me I have used it for ten years and it is not feasible to use it now. I am looking for some clean good alternative operating systems to use. I want to be flexible and would like to consider non windows options too.

Linux

The Netbooks really gave Linux a boost in popularity. Linux offers up a different user interface & behavior that concentrating on the very important tasks you probably do on a netbook. The different distributions can be installed as Ubuntu or SUSE, but there are also custom build distros like the Ubuntu like distro Easy Peasy or Fedora based Linpus Linux. On few models there may be problems with hardware drivers when Linux is not pre-installed on them. In this instance, consult the Internet, the Linux community is very friendly & will help you.

Mac OS X

About Apple enthusiasts managed to install Mac OS X on netbooks & released several how tos for everyone to come after. By bad luck, we will most likely never see an official version of the Mac OS for other platforms then Apples, but some users reported that the Apple operating systems works good on netbooks. There may be few issues with drivers of hardware, therefore before installing Mac OS X assure if there are availableness of deal breakers for you. Nevertheless, dualbooting with XP is supported & the community has a growing list of common workarounds. Might be worth a shot for some of you guys.
