The Pebble is a new e-paper-featured wristwatch project from Alerta to keep you always connected with your iPhone and Android. Alerta, also the creator of inPulse wristwatch for BlackBerry, is set to produce the Pebble once its Kickstarter campaign is over. The Pebble will connect one with his smartphone over Bluetooth and will show all updates from the phone on its tiny e-paper screen.

The Pebble has multi purposes. Aside from bringing your call and SMS updates, this smartwatch can support a variety of apps for various activities like running, golfing and cycling. Thanks to accelerometer sensor, the watch acts like an activity monitor. The smartwatch has a smoother functioning as an extension tool to your smartphone. Once you receive a call, e-mail or SMS, the Pebble will instantly alert you of it.
Going by form factor, the Pebble has a slim and cute design. It is to come with a small e-paper display with a battery life of seven days. The core features that give life for the smartwatch are a three-axis accelerometer, Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR and a vibrator. Over Bluetooth, it connects with the phone in user’s pocket or handbag and starts delivering instant updates. A USB port lets you charge the device.
The Pebble requires you to install an app for proper functioning. The Pebble app will be available for free in respective app stores. Alerta wishes to ship the Pebble for a price that starts at $115. Interestingly, this amazing project has received large response on Kickstarter. In 28 hours, the project grabbed the targeted one million dollars.
