Can someone share about aim faces codes?

I am making a web-portal and want to add smiley faces on it but the problem is that I do not know much about it. The only thing I know is that the smilies are formed by AOL and is integrated in the program code. I am not able to insert more smilies or make custom smilies. So, provide me some codes as I am already running behind the schedule. Thanks.

You must know that the smiley codes are the combinations of punctuation marks in a typed email. It represents emotions or responses. Smiley codes enable an individual to add a personal touch to messages. The code used to create emotions can, in certain programs like instant messenger. The most common codes that you can use are :-) or :) to represent a smile and :-( or :( to represent a frown. You can easily browse the list of smiley codes. The other way is to simply type :) or :-) to make a smiley face and :( or :-( to make a frown. In Microsoft Office programs like Excel, FrontPage, InfoPath, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher you need to hold down the Alt key while typing on the numeric keypad 074 for a smiley face, and 075 for a frowning face. You need to memorize your favorite smiley codes. I hope I have helped you with the matter. I would like you to know some email programs like Yahoo have a menu of emoticons, from which you can choose smileys.
