Since its rudimentary beginning comprising of pings and dots, the exalted gaming industry is now poised to fetch revenues of over a whopping $50 billion by 2012. And as the industry gained in momentum and eminence, there came some 'cream of the crop' games that lead to the refinement of a multitude of genres like First Person Shooters, Real Time Strategies and Role Playing. Now, such fascinatingly fantastic games have had numerous translations into other avenues such as modifications, movies, comics, books and even lifestyles. But what about inspiring the style element of one of the very mediums through which they are religiously played? Yes, we are talking about PCs, and how some clever modders had put their heart, soul and a little money to create tantalizingly compelling game inspired casemods.

1. Doom 3: Project Mars City Case Mod
When Doom 3 came into the fray of things in 2004, people were enthralled by its advanced engine, impressive graphics and breathtakingly frightening sound effects. Now, when you try to fuse these exhilarating experiences into a singular PC styling, you certainly get the Doom3 Mars City Project case mod. Painstakingly contrived by modder Crimson Sky, this DangerDen watercooled contraption has it all - the malefic industrial/military complex vibe with operable doors, a LCD touchscreen display embedded within the case, an ominously reddish hued LED pentagram and even a detailed Mars terrain (created out of foam). And that's not all; based on Antec Super Lanboy, the computer buttons are fully remote controlled, while the machine has top of the line specs to keep you going through those sleepless nights of thrills, gore and monsters.

2. Batmobile Tumbler PC
It is certainly hard to believe that this is not just a accurate model of the Batmobile, but a full fledged PC case mod in itself! The authoritatively dynamic attributes of the Batmobile does only not get translated through an immaculate visual medium, but also through a series of powerful specifications. Incorporating "AMD Sempron 2800+, 40 gig HD and 736 megs of DDR400 ram", the base 'vehicle-case' was salvaged through a Walmart RC Batmobile toy. After stripping all the RC components, the creator (batfan06) housed the computer circuitry inside the vacant car. Coming to detailing, he used aluminum reinforcing and 7 LED lights for a spectacle of subtle lighting. And in case, you are wondering where the DVD goes, there is an inconspicuous DVD drive at the right side base with a brown eject button.

3. R2-D2 Case Mod
Of course there is a (or are) R2-D2 case-mod/mods; or else the world would surely feel a tad bit boring. This time the bantam bot is back with its ubiquitous bulbous head and polished cylinder form. Totally custom made by the modder, the details are certainly quite breathtaking. Though we are not sure about its capabilities regarding hacking computers, extinguishing fires or even projecting holograms; the defining visual effect is enough to remind us of 'a galaxy far far way'!

4. Kratos God of War Computer Mod
Hack, slash, blood and revenge - this in short is God of War, a PlayStation 'killer' app. The protagonist is of course Kratos, but this time he is back in a PC avatar or rather a PC casemod avatar. The infuriated looking bust of the demigod (sorry for the spoiler!) with those strips of red paint and blood dripping scimitars certainly calls out for a supreme Olympian army. This 'statue' covers the front facade of the main tower case, whose specs are unfortunately not known to us. But the overall commanding demeanor with a smart finish makes this imaginative case-mod a winner in our books.

5. FIFA 10 PC case mod
It actually doesn't surprise us that there is a PC case mod inspired by EA Sport's renowned FIFA series. What really surprises us is that - there is a FIFA 10 case mod that actually doubles up as a barbeque's grill! Certainly a heartfelt tribute to the beautiful game, and what's more - it has the specs to back it up. Coming with Intel Core 2 Duo, motherboard socket 775, an ASUS ATI 4870 Grafkkarte with 1024MB RAM, a 4GB Corsair TwinX RAM, a 1 tera-byte hard drive, a DVD burner, along with input devices of mouse, keyboard and OS of Windows Vista Home; let the game begin!
