Lego - the very word brings us into of world of cute plastic bricks with their kaleidoscopic essence. However, some among us have developed this guileless passion to create something adroit yet fantastic from these vivacious plastic components. Moreover, this unwavering spirit has managed to push this hobby to the intriguing scope of dynamic, enticing, yet immaculate conceptions made just out of Lego bricks. Lego robots certainly fall in this special category, and we give our heartfelt salute to the modders by bringing you five such interesting creations that impress us on a personal scale.

1. LEGO Terminator
If you want to create a Lego robot desperately, then what can be more apt than the original badass Terminator? Certainly, the lack of perfect finishing is quite evident, but then again it is a full-fledged Lego creation. And before you are lost in some robust reverie, the conception is only limited to the Terminator head. Made from various Lego Mindstorms sets, the renowned skull can actually be made to talk. However, the next time perhaps the creator would want a pair of sunglasses that are not over sized.

2. Wall-E LEGO Robot
Our adorable WALL-E has also made its transition into the more advanced domain of NXT Lego bricks. The designer had full use this programmable robotics kit from the exalted Danish company, as evident from the clever detailing. While maintaining its essence of cuteness, this Lego WALL-E can spin around and also hold and drop objects. So, yes it can pretty much do what the actual WALL-E does, though it does not seem if the modder will have the heart to make the robot work for him.

3. Robo-Rex
If we were to appraise this conception beyond the menacing eyes, the perilous demeanor and the ominously jagged teeth, then we would say it is a winner. Inspired by a brilliant German advertisement showing mechanical dinosaurs, this Robo-Rex was created from LEGO Technics (an advanced version of Lego components with more complex movable arms). Though we are not exactly sure what the end product does, it must be something alluding to being precariously portentous.

4. LegoAsimo
We do not now what are the intrinsic attributes that link it to the original Honda's ASIMO, but this is surely one hell of a creation. Designed by Arno van der Vegt, this bipedal robot incorporates fourteen Lego NXT and Power Functions motors, four touch sensors, five tilt sensors, and an ultrasonic sensor. All of these paraphernalia is maneuvered by three NXT microcontroller bricks. The end result is a fascinating humanoid robot built wholly from Lego.

5. Remote controlled R2-D2
A custom-made R2-D2 sculpture from Lego bricks is certainly rare, but a custom-made remote controlled R2-D2 sculpture from Lego is even rarer. Modder Peter Salter, whom you might know better by his Flickr user name Ickelpete, has ingeniously contrived this bantam bot in his full Lego avatar. All the components ranging from internal power joints to the outer cylindrical form have been made from the plastic bricks. The cute factor is that this contraption can actually make those idiosyncratic sound effects, rotate its bulbous helmet like head and automatically maneuver its third leg projecting from the pelvic region.
